Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa (born 3 March 1988) is a celebrated South African actress, television presenter, and award-winning fashion designer. She is best known for her breakthrough role in the series Tshisa (2006). She has established herself as both local and international actress, and also as a powerful figure in both the entertainment and fashion industries.

Early Life and Education
Born in Johannesburg, Enhle was primarily raised by her mother, Bongi Mlotshwa, a respected makeup artist. She grew up in Soweto, largely without a father figure, an experience she credits with shaping her independence and resilience. [1][2]
To refine her talents, she pursued studies in fashion at the University of Johannesburg, completed a film course in Boston, and trained in performance at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City, where she reportedly graduated top of her class. [3]
Acting Career

Enhle’s passion for acting began at the age of five after watching the iconic film Sarafina!. She launched her professional career in 2005 with a role in Mtunzini.com and rose to prominence through her role in Tshisa.
Over the years, she has built an impressive television portfolio with appearances in popular productions such as Scandal!, Rhythm City, 7de Laan, Rockville, The Herd, and Isibaya. She has also expanded her reach to international and streaming audiences with roles in Blood Legacy, Queen Sono, and the Showmax production Blood Psalms. [3]
Her work in film has also earned critical acclaim. Her lead role in the short film Lace won her a Best Actress award at Filmapalooza 2019. In 2026, she further solidified her acting credentials by winning Best Supporting Actress in a TV Drama at the South African Film and Television Awards for her role in Four Walls.
Fashion & Business Ventures
Beyond acting, Enhle has built a strong presence in the fashion and business world. In 2015, she launched SE Preggoz, a maternity wear brand designed to bring style and confidence to pregnant women, which gained recognition both locally and internationally.
She later introduced her luxury fashion label, Essie Apparel, also known as House of Essie, in 2019. The brand was featured in Vogue Italia in 2020 and won Best Designer Collection at Fashion Community Week. In addition, she hosts the vodcast Sincerely Yours and has collaborated with major brands such as Johnnie Walker and Carlton Hair. [4]

In her personal life, Enhle was married to internationally acclaimed DJ Black Coffee. The couple held a traditional wedding in 2011 and formalised their marriage in 2017. Their separation in 2019 attracted widespread public attention, accompanied by legal disputes and allegations. She is the mother of two sons, Anesu and Asante. [5]
Philanthropy
Committed to giving back, Enhle founded the Enhle Cares Foundation, now known as the We Care Foundation, which focuses on empowering young girls and women in underserved communities. [6]
