Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa (born 3 March 1988) is a South African actress, television presenter, and award-winning fashion designer. She is best known for her breakthrough role in the series Tshisa (2006).

Early Life and Education
Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa was born in Soweto, Johannesburg in South Africa on 3 March 1988. She was raised by her mother, Bongi Mlotshwa, a respected makeup artist. She grew up in Soweto without a father figure. She looked up to her grandmother who was a hair technician, which gave a good foundation for her beaty businesses today.
Mbali fell in love with arts and entertainment at very age. At the age of five years old, she developed interest in acting after watching film Sarafina!. Then at six years old, she started her pageant career as runner-up for Miss Tinkerbell. She began acting back in school, appearing on several school stage plays.
After high school, Mbali pursued studies in fashion at the University of Johannesburg to sharpen her talents. She completed a film course in Boston, and trained in performance at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. According to reports, she graduated top of her class.
Acting Career of Enhle Mbali
Enhle Mbali’s professional acting career started in 2005 when she landed a role in the SABC 1 murder mystery series Mtunzini.com. By that time she was only 17 years old. She bagged a breakthrough leading role as Precious in the popular youth drama series Tshisa in 2006. She remained in this role until 2009 which made her a household name.
Enhle Mbali starred and appeared in several well known drama serials from 2010, including: Soul City, Sokhulu and Partners, and 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls. She also appeared in several telenovelas including iNkaba, Moferefere Lenyalong, and Rockville. She had a stint on long-running soapies such as SABC’s 7de Laan and e.tv’s Rhythm City.
In 2018, she starred in the short film Lace. The following year she was nominated and won an international Best Actress Award at Filmapalooza 2019 in Orlando. In 2023 and 2024, she starred in Netflix’s Blood Legacy, and The Queenstown Kings respectively. Enhle Mbali took home another award in 2026 when she won Best Supporting Actress in a TV Drama at the South African Film and Television Awards for her role in Four Walls.
Presenting Career
Enhle Mbali started presenting early on in her career in the entertainment industry. Her debut presenting career began in 2009 when she hosted Dstv Channel O award-winning show Young, Gifted and Black. In 2013 she hosted Starbiz on ANN7, focusing on local and international entertainment news.
Fashion & Business Ventures
Beyond acting, Enhle has built a strong presence in the fashion and business world. In 2015, she launched SE Preggoz, a maternity wear brand designed to bring style and confidence to pregnant women, which gained recognition both locally and internationally.
She later introduced her luxury fashion label, Essie Apparel, also known as House of Essie, in 2019. The brand was featured in Vogue Italia in 2020 and won Best Designer Collection at Fashion Community Week. In addition, she hosts the vodcast Sincerely Yours and has collaborated with major brands such as Johnnie Walker and Carlton Hair.
In 2024 she received a recognition for her influence as a stylist and designer at the 27th annual SA Style Awards.
Personal Life

In her personal life, Enhle was married to internationally acclaimed DJ Black Coffee. The couple held a traditional wedding in 2011 and formalised their marriage in 2017. Their separation in 2019 attracted widespread public attention, accompanied by legal disputes and allegations. She is the mother of two sons, Anesu and Asante.
Philanthropy
Committed to giving back, Enhle founded the Enhle Cares Foundation, now known as the We Care Foundation, which focuses on empowering young girls and women in underserved communities.
