Early Life and Education

Hem Kaur Saroya was born and raised in New Delhi. She attended Loreto Convent School, where she completed her early schooling.

She later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication at Amity University between 2015 and 2018. Driven by her interest in global politics and diplomacy, she went on to earn a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research from 2021 to 2023.

Career of Hem Kaur Saroya

Hem Saroya began her media career in June 2016 when she joined Delhi Press Magazine as a copywriter and social media manager.

In June 2018, she joined NDTV as an anchor and assistant producer under NDTV Convergence Limited. That very same year, she advanced to the role of full-time reporter and news anchor, gaining recognition for her on-screen presence and coverage of major news stories.

Saroya later joined WION in August 2020 as a news anchor. During her time at the network, she hosted programs such as World DNA and Untangled. These shows are; morning news show focused on international developments, and a digital news and analysis platform, in that respect.

In 2026 she joined Vantage news show on Firstpost, an Indian news channel by Network18 group, as its news anchor. This was after the departure of Palki Sharma from the network. She also worked for Indian English-language news television channel, CNN-News18. Her reporting and presentation while working for Firstpost and other channels focused on geopolitics, international relations, diplomacy, public policy and major global developments.
