Kgomotso MoMo Matsunyane was born into a prominent creative family on 30 July 1988 in South Africa. Matsunyane is the daughter of legendary actor Neo Matsunyane. Her step sister is Connie Ferguson’s daughter Lesedi Matsunyane-Ferguson.

Her upbringing exposed her to the performing arts from an early age, shaping her multidisciplinary career path.

She pursued formal training at University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University), where she earned an Honours Degree in Dramatic Arts in 2012, specializing in Performance, Film, and Television.
