MaCele Mseleku (Born 2 December 1977) is a South African reality TV personality, public speaker, and businesswoman. She is well-known as the first wife of the famous polygamist Musa Mseleku. She became prominent nation wide when she starred in the Mzansi Magic reality show, Uthando Nes’thembu, which documents her family’s life in a polygamous marriage.

Early Life and Background
Busisiwe “MaCele” Mseleku was born on 2 December 1977 in KwaZulu-Natal. She grew up with strong traditional values. As a result, she later embraced a unique family structure rooted in culture and custom.
Marriage and Polygamous Life

MaCele met Musa Mseleku in a supermarket in 2000. After two years of dating, they married in a white wedding in 2002 when MaCele was 22 years old. In May 2019, Musa and MaCele had their official traditional marriage ceremony, which was televised on Musa Mseleku’s reality television show Uthando Nes’thembu.
MaCele holds a senior position in the family as the first wife, also known as Indlovukazi. Musa often describes her as the “pillar of strength.”
However, MaCele has openly shared her controversial personal views. She said she never wanted to be in a polygamous marriage because its against her faith. She has questioned God why it happened but eventually realized it was God’s plan.
In an interview with Drum, MaCele admitted that she might not have chosen polygamy if she is given another chance. Nevertheless, she supports her husband’s vision on polygamous marriage. In addition, she is known for being firm, outspoken, and authoritative within the household.

MaCele is a devoted mother. She has three biological children who she had with Musa Mseleku. Her first child, Lwandle, was born in 2003. Then, she welcomed Abongwe in 2005. Abongwe later graduated from university and dedicated the achievement to her. In 2012, she gave birth to her youngest child, Owami.
Furthermore, she plays a significant maternal role beyond her biological children. She helped raise Musa’s eldest daughter, Snenhlanhla (Sne) Mseleku, from a previous relationship. As a result, she remains a central maternal figure in the extended family.
Career and Public Life

Before becoming a reality star, MaCele worked in a supermarket where she met Musa in the year 2000. After getting married to Musa Mseleku, she started appearing on his reality television Uthando Nes’thembu from 2017. The show documents her family’s polygamous lifestyle.
In 2023 she co-hosted Ezomshado alongside her sister wife Thobile “MaKhumalo” Mseleku. On the show, they help couples navigate marriage challenges. She then expanded her resume in reality television when she appeared on family’s spin-offs like Izingane zeSthembu.
Philanthropy and Empowerment
She is also into community development and uplifting. In late 2022 she launched the MaCele Mseleku Women Global Empowerment Foundation. The initiative addresses key community needs such as education and food security.
Moreover, she works as a motivational speaker who speaks of women’s empowerment and family.
