Dumisani Mbebe (born 21 September 1974) is a veteran South African actor and producer. He is widely recognised for delivering versatile performances across major local dramas and international film productions. Over a career spanning more than 26 years, he has firmly established himself as a household name in South African television. In 2026 he starred on Emzini: A Family Legacy as Panyaza Fakude.

Dumisani Mbebe was born on 21 September 1974 in Nqamakwe, specifically in the village of Guvana in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Growing up in a remote rural area, he experienced limited access to healthcare facilities.
Consequently, he was born at home because the nearest hospitals were far from his village. From an early age, he developed a passion for storytelling. In particular, watching cowboy movies as a young boy sparked his interest in acting and inspired his future career path. [1][2]
