Tino Chinyani (born 9 September 1994) is a Zimbabwean model, presenter and entrepreneur. He is best known for co-hosting the e.tv breakfast show The Morning Show.

Early Life and Education

Tino was born as Tinotenda Chinyani on 9 September 1994 in Harare, Zimbabwe. He was raised in Harare where he attended Saint John’s Preparatory School. After that Tino went on to attend Saint John’s College to accomplish his basic education.

During his time at St. John’s School, Tino became the deputy head boy, and was involved in sports including basketball in which he became the captain, and he represented under 19 Zimbabwe rugby team. He also became a member of the interact society at the school.

After obtaining his basic education, Tino moved to South Africa to further his studies. He studied Marketing and Management at Monash University. Whilst at Monash University, he joined sports as a basketball player and won the Gauteng D2 League MVP title. He also joined the school’s modeling competition and won Mr Monash 2014, and the following year he was voted as the third most influential student.

Career of Tino Chinyani

Tino’s career began in 2015 when he joined Boss Models, a modeling agency company which develops and manages models. Under this modeling agency, he featured in campaigns for Polo, Axe, Garnier, McDonald’s, Edgar’s to name a few. He has also models on ramp, showcasing fashionable apparel for designers such as Maxhosa, David Tlale, Sheria Ngowi, Tokyo James and Rich Mnisi. Tino also made appearances at Menshealth shows and Sun City royal escape.

In 2017 he joined MTV Base VJ Search, a talent competition which aims to discover new television presenters, and became one of its finalists. This marked his breakthrough moments as he went on to host Channel O’ Top 5 with Denise Zimba in late 2017. In May 2018 he joined etv’s breakfast show The Morning Show, making his debut appearance on the 7th of that month.

Business Ventures and Music

Tino Chinyani also ventured into business in 2021, when he founded and launched the Tiyani Afrika empire, a luxury clothing brand named after his son Tiyani. Through this venture, Tino also releases music, including his debut single Nothing For Free on Friday, which he released in 2021 in celebration of his birthday.

In 2023 he released a song titled Tiyani featuring his romantic partner Simz Ngema, in celebration of their first son’s third birthday. Then in 2025 he released another song titled Delilah, cementing his position in the music industry as a musician.

Personal Life of Tino Chinyani

Tino Chinyani is in a long-term relationship with South African actress Simphiwe Ngema, also known as Simz Ngema. The couple started dating secretly in 2019, and went public about their relationship in 2020. In June 2020, they welcomed their first child together, Tiyani Kemorena Michael Chinyani.

In September 2021, they briefly separated when Simz announced their breakup on Instagram, stating that they would remain friends and co-parents. Then in March 2023, the couple confirmed that they were back together after months of speculations.

The couple also released a song in June 2023 in celebration of their son’s third birthday, titled “Tiyani”. Then the following year, they welcomed their second son, Kaboentle Tinotenda Chinyani born in November 2024.
