Arno Greeff (born 14 March 1995) is a South African actor and presenter. He is best known for playing the role of Chris Ackerman in award-winning Netflix drama series Blood and Water.

Early Life and Education of Arno Greeff

Arno Greeff was born on 14 March 1995 in Johannesburg, Gauteng province in South Africa. He was raised in Johannesburg where winters are dry and cold. He initially developed interest for sports then he changed for acting back in high school, at the Afrikaans private school Helpmekaar Kollege.

Here he took a subject of dramatic arts and sharpened his acting skills under the guidance of his drama teacher Samuel Ferreira. After completing his high school studies, he obtained his matric certificate in 2013.

Acting Career of Arno Greeff

Arno Greeff’s career began back in 2013 when he landed a role in the feature film Verraaiers. He became a household name in 2014 when he landed a role of playing Krige Vos in the kykNET soap opera Binnelanders. He landed his first starring role in television, in the kykNET soap opera Getroud met Rugby: Die Sepie (Married to Rugby: The Soapie) which was based on Deon Opperman’s film of the same name.

In 2015 he got another role on surfing film Die Pro (The Pro) when he played the bad guy Dustin Jackson. Then in late 2015 he had a minor role on a drama series Bloedbroers which was created by Deon Opperman. Arno also appeared and starred in Generations: The Legacy, 7de Laan, Cas oppi Kassie and Tydelik Terminaal.

His prominence in television acting career reach its peak when he appeared and starred in Netflix’s SAFTA award winning drama series Blood and Water season 1 (2019) and season 2 (2021).

Arno Greeff retired from acting in March 2026 after a decade being in the industry, citing that it’s the worst time to be in the acting industry. The South African acting industry has been facing a perfect storm; funding delays and stalled government incentives have left many productions on hold.

Presenting career and other ventures

Arno Greeff worked as a presenter on Fiesta in 2017. Then he worked behind the scene as a director, sound engineer and camera man on Leef jou Reis met Gerrie Pretorius. In April 2026 he joined Top Billing as it’s presenter alongside Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi and Miss Universe South Africa Bryon Govender.

When Arno Greeff announced his retirement he also introduced his fans to the new chapter in his life, that he was joining real estate industry. He was just left with acquiring a license in becoming a real estate agent.

Arno Greeff married Iluska Nagy on 13 October 2022 in beautiful ceremony. Despite having challenges and arguments in their marriage, the two are still together and celebrated their 3 year anniversary in 2025.
