Samkelo Zwane (born 27 February 2002) is a South African professional footballer who plays as a central or defensive midfielder. He is currently on loan at Siwelele FC from Kaizer Chiefs in the Betway Premiership.

Early Life and Family

Samkelo Zwane was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, into a football-oriented family. He is the son of Eugene Zwane, a respected former footballer who played for clubs including Jomo Cosmos and Orlando Pirates. [1]

Zwane broke into the senior setup at Kaizer Chiefs during the 2021/22 season. Known for his composure on the ball, technical ability, and vision in midfield, he gradually established himself as one of the club’s promising young talents. [3]

Although he faced challenges securing regular game time under different coaches, he earned more opportunities under coach Nasreddine Nabi. By mid-2025, Zwane had made over 30 senior appearances for Chiefs, contributing with assists and strong midfield performances despite limited goals.

Siwelele FC (Loan)

In September 2025, Zwane and Happy Mashiane joined Siwelele FC on loan from Kaizer Chiefs in search of more consistent playing time. The loan agreement runs until June 2026, and he wears shirt number 31 at the club.
