Seemah (born 25 June 2001) is a South African content creator, singer, influencer and entrepreneur. She is well known for her massive TikTok and YouTube following. She gained fame through engaging lifestyle, fashion, beauty content, comedy skits, and pranks.

Early Life and Background

Seemah, whose real name is Sima Mangolwane, was born on 25 June 2001 in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. She spent her early childhood there. When she was sven years old, she relocated to Midrand with her family. She recalls that she was in grade one by the time of relocation. Growing up, Seemah was raised in a financially stable family and never lacked anything a child would need.

From that tender age, she showed interest in social media, but never aspired to become a content creator or influencer. She looked down on people who post about their life on social media. Instead of content creation, Seemah’s initial career interest, back in high school, was to become a lawyer. She applied late for tertiary enrolment, and ended up abandoning her application after receiving negative reply.

However, everything changed when she was introduced to Tiktok during 2020-2021 Covid19 lockdown. Since she was idle at home on lockdown, she started posting videos on Tiktok out of boredom. Her videos started to get large number of views and followers, which made her to reconsider her career choice.

Professional Career of Seemah

After joining Tiktok in 2021, she started posting humorous skits, pranks, and lifestyle content. In addition, she shares beauty tips with her audience. She never pursued her dream of becoming a lawyer because content creation was making enough money for her. By 2024, Seemah was now referred to as a Tiktok star. The same year, she was awarded the Emerging Social Media Personality of the Year award at the South African Social Media Awards.  She also joins Podcast and Chill network as a co-host of the Spreading Humour podcast.

Music Career and Business ventures

In 2022 or 2023 Seemah ventured into music releasing a hip hop rap song. The song never got much attention. Therefore, a friend introduced her to a record producer who helped her to release another song. The song was never released because it was not good enough to go public. She tried again and released another song which became a sensation.

After that, she received a messagefrom Master KG, inviting her to collaborate on several songs. With Master KG, Seemah released songs such as, Industry, Kamva Lami, and Thando. In 2024, she launched her beauty brand, See My Gloss (Seemygloss). She also works as a brand ambassador for various local companies.

Controversy

In 2025, her main TikTok account was banned after promoting Alabuga Start Programme, a Russian job scam which promised Africans a two-year work-and-study program in Russia, while in actual fact it recruited Africans into Russian military drone manufacturing companies. Her account which had over 2.8 million followers, was reported and was later banned.

Personal Life of Seemah

Seemah dated YouTuber and rapper Ghost Hlubi (Khanya Hlubi). The couple had an on and off relationship. Their relationship gained widespread attention online after a viral video showed Hlubi giving her a Mercedes-Benz.

Seemah’s political views are that of Pan-Africanism. As a result, she supports Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), a political party which is led by politician Julius Malema.
