Early Life of DJ Nkanyezi

Nkanyezi Kubheka was born on 11 March 1988 in Durban and was raised in Johannesburg. After completing his basic education and obtaining his matric, Nkanyezi enrolled in college to study financial accounting. During his time in college, he discovered his love for music and his career as a DJ was born.

Career of DJ Nkanyezi

During the early years of his career as a DJ, Nkanyezi Kubheka build his reputation as club DJ in venues like Zone 6 Venue in Soweto. In 2020 he gained national wide recognition when he won Budweiser King of the Decks competition. He was given a slot to perform as a DJ at Ultra South Africa alongside the iconic DJs such as DJ Afrojack and DJ Black Coffee as part of his awards.

Then in 2021 he released his first music video for his single Journey, which premiered on MTV Base. The following year he released a song titled Winner which made him a recognizable DJ in the Amapiano music world. By 2026, DJ Nkanyezi had put out several albums and singles, including “Inspired” and “School Is Out” in 2023, “SKUPTA11” and “BASS & DRUMS” in 2024, and “House of Piano, Vol. 1 & 2” as well as “The Groove Theory” in 2025.
